April Giveaway by Funny Face Beauty

I had been following Alicia from Funny Face Beauty for quite some time. It is true that I was first attracted to her blog because of her fascinating giveaways, but after reading a few of her posts, I was hooked.

While I am really not a beauty junkie, I do have quite an interest about makeup. I love collecting eye shadows, lipsticks and of course, interesting blushes and brushes... But this habit had died down quite a bit ever since I returned to my hometown, Malaysia, since makeup products here tend to be a tad bit expensive. Okay, they were generally expensive, especially those HUGE brands like MAC or Estee Lauder or Channel etc etc etc.

So now, I had been purchasing makeup - should I say - with caution, since I developed a rule not to buy anything I would not wear.

Because the harsh truth is, I rarely applied makeup for work because of the nature of my job, usually jumping here and there, embracing dust every now and then during inspections and stuff. The only time when I put on my makeup was when I knew, for sure, that I would be sitting at my desk in the office, writing away pile of reports or feedback letters the whole day.

Even when going out for dinners, movies, or a shopping spree, I preferred light and natural makeup since it is easy to wash if I had to perform my prayers while I was out. And most importantly, easy to apply again afterwards.

Back to the main story, since I only purchased products that I needed, the colours of my blushes, eye shadows and lipsticks had been a bunch of natural, nude colours, so nothing loud and daring (and shimmer was a big no-no) as far as I am concerned. Every time I looked at my makeup kit, I was dying to revamp it into something sweeter, at times flashy and also elegant.

However, my problem is, every single time I saw anything - be it pink blushes, thick fake eyelashes or orangey lipstick - that screamed bold and daring, it’s either

a. My conscience was telling me that I had to stick to my rule, or

b. I was afraid I am unable to pull it off, or

c. I was being plain stingy.

So naturally, when I saw Alicia’s appealing April giveaway, I am VERY tempted to join the contest. (Who wouldn’t? Especially when I am actually searching for a sweet-looking pink blusher. On top of that getting a pink mascara!!! I would LOVE to have that for myself.)

But to be perfectly honest, I had been always tempted to join every single time Alicia posted a giveaway/contest in her blog. It's just she is residing in Canada, and I am here, in Malaysia, and it would be so expensive for her to send me the giveaway if I'm lucky enough to win (a wishful thinking on my part)!

But then, I made up my mind about this, so I joined the contest. Why? Two giant reasons.

1. The probability of me winning is like, so low, so why not join the contest. The more, the merrier. Right? Haha.

2. I don’t want to be a silent follower anymore. I might not have a vast knowledge about makeup and beauty stuff, but sharing is caring, right?

So here is.

My favourite product of the month is The Body Shop Shea Body Butter! My hands are soft and supple thanks to this butter. ^^ Try it, you'll love it.

Cik Atun: Need to be less stingy when it comes to beauty products. Ouch.
